The first Virtual Pool Party is Home for Life® Animal Sanctuary's creative response to the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic which has prevented our organization from presenting the wildly popular Best Pool Party event, a phenomenon and beloved end of summer get together for dogs and those who love them, and what would have been our 5th Annual Sold Out event this year. These tough and crazy times in 2020 have affected us in one way or another all but the truth is, no matter what, we are all in it together. Our virtual pool party is Home for Life's® response to the challenge of keeping the spirit of the event alive even though we can't be together at the pool to celebrate.
For those of you who have been part of one of our four previous pool events, you know that much of the thrill of the day is seeing all the other dogs, and watching them have so much fun! There's no reason we have to give up this most special aspect of the Pool Party event just because we can't all be together in person this year.
Online events are not the same as live events but different can be equal! Home for Life's® Virtual Pool Party has utilized the power of the internet in an innovative way to design a new experience for our pool party fans: think part symphony orchestra playing together virtually and part Cat Video Festival--only way more awesome because of course, cats don't swim AND because YOUR beloved dogs are the stars! We hope this year's pool party video will unite all of us who support Home for Life® and who are inspired by our dogs and yours and their joyful optimism and hope for better days ahead that is never extinguished .no matter the circumstances.

Events like our annual gala and pool party provide much needed funding to help the most vulnerable cats and dogs who needed a third chance and the opportunity only Home for Life® could provide. We need your support at this critical time to continue our mission and help these animals who otherwise would have nowhere else to turn.
Saving the lives of millions of animals requires a multi-faceted approach. Long term strategies such as spaying and neutering will reduce the numbers of animals needing homes. Aggressive adoption efforts will find homes for those animals who can adapt to a new home. Despite these strategies, there will always be animals who are already born and are not good candidates for adoption. What will become of them? - the old, those with medical issues, disabilities or behavior concerns? Those animals who have been adopted and returned to the shelter system multiple times or who cannot stay in the home they had and are rejected from rescue or shelter programs as incapable of adoption? How can animal welfare hope to end the euthanasia of 4 million or more animals a year without creating a third option for these special need dogs and cats?
The animals who come to Home for Life® could not be helped by any other option but a care for life sanctuary. And once at Home for Life®, our animals are not offered for adoption. Once an animal comes to us, it truly has a home for life. Through our example, we hope to discourage an acceptance of euthanasia for animals who can still live a quality life.
AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME
Home for Life® is small but mighty, and we know that a small sanctuary can make a big difference. For the nearly 200 animals that live at our sanctuary, Home For Life® is able to give its residents a quality life and not just a warehoused existence.
Our Third Door® model is exemplified by Home for Life's prototype facility in Star Prairie Wisconsin, where our most important mission is to show what's possible: that animals, who couldn't be adopted but who don't deserve to die, can still live a great life if given that opportunity.
GIVE TODAY :
or SPONSOR A DOG OR CAT AT Home for Life®
Sponsorship gives our supporters an opportunity to witness the transformative power that their generosity can have on an individual animal living at Home for Life® sanctuary.
As a sponsor, your monthly or annual donation will help us to continue providing a secure, healthy environment where animals who were formerly abused, neglected, and rejected can thrive and begin again to participate in the joy of being that is the right of all living things.
HOW IT WORKS
You can sponsor an individual cat or dog for $25 a month, or $300 a year. (For pet owners wishing to surrender a pet, different sponsorship rates may apply).
Your sponsorship contributions will be used to care for all of the animals at Home for Life®, including those who do not have sponsors. All of the animals at our sanctuary receive the same high-quality care, whether they have sponsors or not.
At the same time, you will get to know your sponsored animal. You will receive regular written updates about your animal's well-being and experiences, along with photos taken by professional photographers who donate their time in support of our sponsorship program. You may even wish to visit the sanctuary and meet your cat or dog face-to-face.

While we have not been able to offer tours of the sanctuary this summer and fall as usual, until we can be together again, we invite you to take this virtual tour of Home for Life®.
Home for Life®, an internationally recognized care for life sanctuary, and in 2019 named one of the 10 Most Amazing Sanctuaries in the Country by USA Today, offers a service to animals in need like no comparative organization. Many shelters and rescue organizations aspire to find a home for every animal and dream of the day when there will be no homeless animals. At Home for Life®, that's what we want too—and that's what we provide—for dogs and cats that are overlooked for placement. Home for Life® has created a new idea, the care for life sanctuary—a life-saving and life-affirming alternative for dogs and cats who have not been able to find a home or keep the home they had and for animals who have lifelong special care needs, that most adopters cannot provide. We call our idea the Third Door® in animal welfare which gives at risk dogs and cats, animals who might have been passed over for adoption, an alternative to an undeserved death. The dream of a home should be an opportunity that is available for all dogs and cats, and now with Home for Life®, and the innovative model we have created at our prototype sanctuary in Star Prairie, WI, it can be!
