Watermelon, came to Home for Life® from the Friends of Ferals shelter is now known as the Madison Cat Project of Madison, WI, and is just one of the prettiest cats we have ever had at Home for Life, with her calico coat and bi-colored eyes, one yellow and one blue.
Pepperoni Calzone, is from South Carolina, is FIV+, and came to HFL with severe dental problems. After his dental at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center in the fall of 2021, Pepperoni has been so much more comfortable and healthier. Dental issues are a common side effect of FIV+ viral infection in cats.
Lucinda, a beautiful flame point Himalayan cat was recovered in a community west of the Twin Cities, by the police, who found her huddled by a hurricane fence in a parking lot near an apartment building. Apparently, this poor girl had been abandoned by the owner and apartment dweller who simply moved away and left her outside.
We can't let 2021 end without a final tribute to our Helen, a blind cattle dog, a very special dog, who arrived in 2021 and left us too soon, also this year.
Did you know? Home for Life accepted 7 of the dogs evacuated from the Kabul Small Animal Rescue, more than any other rescue throughout the United States.
