Grace in the meadow

We had a chilly spring day Wednesday this week for the first round of spring pictures with photographer Mark Luinenburg, a longtime friend and supporter of Home For Life Animal Sanctuary. The grass was green and the sky colors muted for a beautiful backdrop for Mark's first photos of 2026.

One of our favorites (above), our 3 legged and blind Saint Bernard Grace.  Here's a link to his album with all his photos from his visit to sanctuary this early spring:

April is happy!

Just 10 days later, the weather warmed up and the flowers were in bloom at last. for photographer Mark Luinenburg's second visit of spring to Home For Life Animal Sanctuary. For the photo session, we decided on several themes, including cats and dogs with names inspired by the spring season and some of our dogs who were saved by American GIs and military contractors, to commemorate Memorial Day. said Mark  about his visit "I went out to Home For Life Animal Sanctuary today for more photos. The last visit was a bit chilly, and the dandelions were just starting - much better today. I will post more photos tomorrow, but this one just really pulled my heartstrings and I had to share. This is April. She and her brother, August, have the canine equivalent of cerebral palsy. They are a challenge to photograph, but their sheer joy in just being able to run is something that really inspires me."
