Ashley, a long-time resident of Home for Life, has earned some international publicity thanks to her perserverence in overcoming outstanding circumstances. From her near death experience and paralysis at the hands of a violent man, she has gone on to grow and flourish as an adult. She moves about with the aid of a doggie-wheelchair, and plays just like any other dog. Her spirited attitude has not been repressed at all, despite her hard life. Ashley still greets staff and visitors with a happy face and a puppy personality. She gives hope and inspiration to people who defy the odds.

Her story gained the interest of a writer in the United Kingdom named Dale Maycock, who was kind enough to pitch her story to the Daily Mail. Check out the published article, and learn more about Ashley.
