Pistol Pete has a great name! He is from the River Bluff Humane Society in Red Wing, MN and is FIV+. It's easy to see why he was named after a former NBA star as he is such a tall cat.

We also discovered that Pistol Pete is blind. We had him checked out by a veterinary ophthalmologist who found that Pistol's eyes are normal, so the blindness seems to be related to the FIV+ virus and a neurological impact. In all other ways Pete who was a stray and in forlorn condition when found, is rebounding well and, his coat has grown back in, healthy and thick with more food and a high-quality diet.

Pistol still loves his food, and looks forward to the canned food we serve every evening. He would have stood no chance of survival on his own with Minnesota's winters outside or as a TNR cat, blind and positive for FIV.
