Home for Life's founder and director of operations was recently reviewed by the Huffington Post. The interview offers a look into Home for Life's mission, including the staff members who work behind the scenes and the animals who make a difference every day.
In collaboration with Twin Cities Public Television and Emergence Productions, Home for Life has produced a feature about our community outreach programs. Home for Life believes our at risk animals can help at risk people of all ages and this program brings to life how the animals of our sanctuary give back and pay it forward to the community that supports them.
Rory's pups made the news once again when they joined one of Home for Life's outreach programs. Home for Life is partnered with the Totem Town Juvenile Correction Center of St. Paul. This center provides housing, education and counseling for adolescents with a criminal record.
Home for Life recently had their annual Fall Fancy Feast fundraising event! The event was a sold out success, and we thank everyone who attended or contributed to the event!
The event included music from the Kenwood Symphony, a silent auction, a beautiful brunch buffet, complimentary champagne, a Bloody Mary Bar courtesy of the 45th Parallel Distillery and even an ice cream sundae bar from Grande Ole Creamery. Guests of the event were also able to meet some of Home for Life's animals during the event's world famous Dog Parade!
Ashley, a long-time resident of Home for Life, has earned some international publicity thanks to her perserverence in overcoming outstanding circumstances. From her near death experience and paralysis at the hands of a violent man, she has gone on to grow and flourish as an adult.
A recent post on Reddit, an interactive social media site, was quickly picked up and rehashed on Carbonated TV. Carbonated TV is a media site that highlights trending content gathered from all over the world.
Thanks to Mark Luinenburg's fantastic photos of our amazing animals, Home for Life gained some recognition on Reddit over the weekend. With their unstoppable optimism and determination, they won the attention of a writer at Buzzfeed. And we can't thank them enough!
Home for Life's very own Rory, the dog who was found tied to the gates of Home for Life in the middle of winter, made a full recovery and gave birth to ten adorable puppies! Rory and her incredible story of survival received notice from Leah Beno at Fox News.
In mid January, 2016, Farah Ravon, the United States representative for Vafa Animal Shelter visited the dogs and cats at the sanctuary.
Vafa Animal Shelter has partnered with Home for Life to provide care to animals across the world. Home for Life has accepted several dogs and two cats from Vafa's shelter. Farah wanted to check up on the progress of the animals previously in the care of Vafa.
