Gertie
One of the new faces at Home for Life® is Gertie, who came to us from the Animal Humane Society, Minneapolis, MN in the summer of 2018. It seems her eyes carry a worried expression in her sweet face.

Kittymine is a soft orange color with white and technically is a calico as she has a small grey patch on her back leg. Kittymine had a beloved owner, who didn't want her anymore. She was friendly when brought into the Animal Humane Society in Minneapolis for surrender by her owner whom she trusted, not knowing that she was about to be left there.
Mystic came to Home for Life® this winter, when her caretaker who lives in Apple Valley reached out on her behalf for help. Mystic lived as part of a colony but was struggling to survive, even with feedings, in the harsh winter conditions. Even with the help of people supporting feral colonies, they have a very hard time during brutal winters like the one of 2017-2018.

Back in June of 2017, we received the following email from Katie, a 3rd-year veterinary student at Ross University, which is located on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts. Arthur was found on the island by Katie when he was only 4 weeks old, a stray kitten on his own in the world. Adorable as he can be, he suffers from an upper neuron disorder that requires him to have special care to live his best life.
Henry Ford came to Home for Life® as a kitten from the Winona Humane Society. Home for Life®, as a care for life sanctuary, takes in very few kittens but does often respond to requests from shelters for help with kittens who are leukemia positive.
Tony is a "desi" dog, believed to be a mix of sight hound and retriever, a dog born on the streets in New Delhi India. He suffered such severe malnutrition as a puppy that rickets left his front legs terribly twisted and deformed.
Mimo is a senior standard poodle, age 12, who came to Home for Life® via Pups with Passports, fka Gulf Canine Connection, a rescue founded by an American who was working in the country of Qatar and was moved by the plight of the many neglected and unwanted dogs.
This is Zuzu, originally adopted about 3 years ago from a large, well funded local (Twin Cities, MN) rescue that does a lot of importing of out of state animals for adoption here.So far so good; except, a few months after her adoption, Zuzu was struggling in her adoptive home and the new owner called and emailed the rescue for help - and never heard back. Nothing - not one word.
